When planning to request family visas, you will need to wait until your priority date becomes current before you can file.

Any family member who is a citizen of the United States can petition for visas for family members living abroad. Children in the family must be younger than 21 years old or turning 21 within the time limit allowed by the Child Status Protection Act to be able to enter the country through a parent's priority date.
